Process parameters, such as tool rotational speed and traversing speed, are tested in order to identify the envelope of the process in terms of weld quality and tool integrity. (W 35) (1)

Each set of samples was assessed in terms of edge quality by measurement of Rz and squareness, in line with the European standard EN ISO 9013. (W 116) (2)

Even minor changes in the operating parameters of the electron beams generated by electron guns can make large enough variations in the beam quality that can result in poor welds. (W 4) (3)
